Celcon Scraper

The BCW P/N 45008-01 hand scraper is made of CELCON material that is approved by Boeing Aviation for use on fuselage skins. The CELCON material hardness is such that it will not damage the underlying surfaces when removing sealants from aircraft surfaces. Metal scraper tools normally have hardness properties that easily scratch the underlying surface. Scratches caused by metallic scrapers may lead to stress concentrations and with time and vibration could cause catastrophic cracks and failure. The BCW 45008-01 in conjunction with a light solvent efficiently and safely removes sealants, adhesives and decals.
In addition the non-sparking property of CELCON provides a tool that can be used in a flammable atmosphere with no danger of explosion due to an electrostatic or metal to metal spark generation.
